Itinerary:

Day 1:

Departure from Iquitos at 7 am by boat. Enjoy a scenic 4 – 5-hour journey with opportunities to spot two species of river dolphins along the way. After lunch, take some time to rest and relax before embarking on a boat excursion to observe the wildlife in their natural habitats. This is a great opportunity to see monkeys, birds, and other creatures in their element. After dinner, we’ll embark on a night walk to discover the nocturnal creatures of the rainforest. Led by an experienced guide, you’ll have the chance to see fascinating nocturnal creatures such as frogs, insects, and snakes. This is a unique and unforgettable experience that shouldn’t be missed!

 

Day 2:

After breakfast, spend a full day exploring the Quebrada Blanco River. Enjoy a scenic boat ride to this stunning location where you’ll have the opportunity to observe a variety of wildlife such as poison dart frogs, anacondas, and birds. We’ll stop for lunch in the forest, giving you the chance to enjoy a meal surrounded by nature.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit the small village of San Pedro where you can learn about the culture and traditions of the local people. This is a great opportunity to interact with the locals and get a taste of the local way of life.

We take a boat ride down the Blanco River to search for nocturnal animals before returning to the lodge for the night.

Overall, this is an exciting day that combines exploration of the natural beauty of the region with cultural immersion, making it a truly memorable experience.

Day 3:

Start the day with a morning fishing trip where you can try your hand at catching some of the local fish species. After lunch, we’ll head out to search for the unique and fascinating hoatzin bird. This bird is known for its distinctive appearance and behavior, making it a favorite among bird watchers and nature enthusiasts.

You’ll have the opportunity to observe this incredible bird and learn about its habits and habitat. As you explore the area, you may also see other wildlife such as monkeys, reptiles, and amphibians.

This is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the area and discover some of the unique and fascinating creatures that call it home. The afternoon excursion will be followed by dinner at the lodge, where you can share stories and experiences with your fellow travelers.

Day 4:

Rise early for a birdwatching excursion before breakfast. The area is home to a diverse array of bird species, including parrots, toucans, and macaws, so this is a great opportunity to observe them in their natural habitat.

After breakfast, we’ll embark on a long hike through the rainforest, where you’ll have the chance to discover even more of the area’s incredible wildlife. Our expert guides will point out different species of monkeys, birds, and reptiles as we explore.

After lunch, we’ll head up the Tahuayo River, where we’ll enjoy dinner on board while searching for tree boas and caimans. This will be a unique and unforgettable experience, as you’ll be surrounded by the sights and sounds of the jungle at night.

We’ll return to the lodge on the Tahuayo River, where you can relax and reflect on your adventures over the past few days.

Day 5:

We will visit the village of El Chino to learn about the local way of life and culture. You’ll have the opportunity to buy handmade crafts and souvenirs and try fresh coconut water. After lunch, we’ll make our way back to Iquitos and arrive at the city center around 6 PM, marking the end of the tour.

Optional days:

For those who want to experience more of the rainforest, we offer the option to go camping, explore remote lakes, do additional fishing, birdwatching, and night hikes to find more amphibians and reptiles. By extending your stay, you’ll have the chance to see even more species of wildlife, or simply relax and take a day to unwind. We are happy to customize the itinerary based on the interests and desires of the group.
