Allpahuayo Mishana National Reserve


We offer different options to visit this amazing reserve.

Day hikes from 2h up to 5h, we return the same day to Iquitos.

Day and night hikes 2h during the day and 3h in the night (we sleep in tents at the station)

If you are only 1 Person we can go with my motorbike

If the group is bigger we can go by motofurgon, motokar, car or minivan.

During the day with a little bit of luck, we can see up to 4 species of primates. ´poison dart frogs, huge trees, white sand forest, birds, and insects.

During the night hike, we see amphibians and reptiles. Maybe some mammals like the nine-banded armadillo, porcupine or paca, tarantulas, and other insects.

The reserve is 36km far away from the city center of Iquitos, by car it takes 1 hour to arrive at the reserve.

Itinerary for the overnight trip:

Pick up from your accommodation around 2 PM. We drive around 1 hour to our destination the Allpahuayo Mishana National Reserve. After the registration with the park ranger, we prepare our tents for the night. We start for the day hike around 3.30 Pm and are back between 6 and 7 PM when it starts to get darker. We have time to eat our dinner (Something simple like Juanes, bred coffee tea, etc). Now we are ready for the night hike around 10 PM we are back at the Park Station and after a little bit of relaxing, we can go to bed. Between 6 AM and 7 AM, we return to the city of Iquitos.

What do bring:

Rubber boots, Raincover, Flashlight with enough battery, water, camera, binoculars, long shirt, long pants, Mosquito repellent, dry clothes for sleeping.

Included:

Entrance fees to the Reserve, Guide, 1 Simple dinner, 1 Tent for 2 Persons, Simple Mattresses, Transport Iquitos-Allpahuayo Mishana Reserve-Iquitos, Rubber boots.

Not included:

Sleeping bag, alcoholic drinks, tips. Flashlights.
